Jared turned one month old yesterday (Thursday, September 22). Here are some milestones and things we have learned about him:
- He is really strong! He could hold up his head for about 5 seconds at a time when we left the hospital and now he can hold it up and look around for over a minute.
- He hates tummy time! He hates it so much that he learned how to roll over from his stomach to his back by about 1.5 weeks. He can also roll from his back to his side, and from his side to his stomach, but he has never rolled all the way from back to stomach.
- He has learned that changing his diaper makes him feel more comfortable so he calms down as soon as he is placed on the changing pad. This makes him so much easier to change! He also loves to pee when his diaper is off.
- He loves open-mouth smiles, although he doesn't know exactly when to smile.
- His umbilical cord fell off exactly 2 weeks after he was born.
- He loves to talk and make all sorts of noises.
- The "5 S's" from The Happiest Baby on the Block works wonders for him when he is upset. He went from colicky sreaming/crying multiple hours each day to lightly crying only when he needed something. It's AMAZING!
- He loves to eat and is already 10 lbs, 4 oz. He gained 13.8 oz in the last week! He peed on the wall at the lactation clinic during the weigh-in process.
I hope you don't mind that I started following your blog. I found the link from Britney's blogspot. Congratulations on your darling little boy! I just had our 3rd boy 2 months ago as well. We love little boys! You are going to be a WONDERFUL mother. :o) -Alana (Britney's older sister...whom you met at BYUI when I brought my boys to visit several years ago.)
