I heard about a hike up Squaw Peak called Buffalo Peak. They said it was kid friendly and easy-moderately difficult. We took the 4-mile round-trip option (there was also 1 and 2-mile round trip options). There was a front and a back trail for the first part, so we took the front trail on the way there, and the back trail coming back. It was a fun hike! I think if we do it again we will just do the 2-mile round trip hike because the trail is pretty rugged and steep in places. It was also really narrow until we got to where it met up with the 2-mile trail, but it was so pretty! We got there before 9 am and there was nobody else there, however we ran into a very large group of campers at the merge with the 2-mile trail and from then on we had other people around us the whole way. It is the first summit hike I have completed in Utah. Jared did amazingly well! He barely complained at all and kept up all 4+ miles!
