Bryce Canyon Trip

On June 20-22, Nate and I went (without the kids!) to Bryce Canyon National Park.  This is the first time that we had gone multiple days without the kids.  My Aunt Sue and Uncle Otis came down from Boise to watch the kids for us.  It was so fun!  It was hot, but we had a good time.  When we first arrived, we did a "strenuous" hike.  It was about 5 miles and wouldn't have been too bad if it hadn't been so hot.  It was the Peekaboo/Navajo Loop trail.  It was pretty rugged in places, but the views were amazing!  That evening we ate at the lodge and then walked along the rim trail from Inspiration Point back to the lodge.  We stayed at the lodge our first night (without AC!).  The next morning we had a horseback ride into the canyon and then that afternoon we went on another hike, the Queens Garden/Navajo Loop trail.  We had a little bit of overlap from our hike the day before, but we got to hike though our favorite part of the whole park again, Wall Street.  After that we visited a few overlooks went to Mossy Cave, which ended up being pretty anti-climatic as the waterfall was dry.  Then we drove all the way to the end of the park and stopped at the different view points coming back.  That evening we stayed at a new Best Western.  The food was good and the AC was wonderful!  We went home the next day.

Amy on Slim

Rachel didn't like Slim.  I tried to get closer, but Rachel moved away.

Crazy Ponderosa Pine.

Wall Street.  You can see people at the bottom.  It is huge!

We got to drive through this!
